

We are thrilled to announce our tailor-made Performing Arts Course, specially designed for individuals aged 16 and above who are passionate about Singing, Dancing, Acting, and the world of Theatre Crafts.

The course is held at Queens Park Arts Centre, Aylesbury, Bucks, one of the UK's largest independent Arts Centres. The home of SDSD and now The Performers Hub.

The Performers Hub works in Partnership with VLUK - Education providers to deliver exceptional performing arts training that empowers aspiring artists to reach their full potential. Our comprehensive programs combine rigorous techniques, innovative practices, and personalised mentorship, ensuring that students not only hone their craft but also develop their unique artistic voices.

Throughout this course, you will have the opportunity to dive into the four pillars of the performing arts:

Who we are

Principal: Maria Payne – A.I.S.T.D / DDE
With over 26 years of experience in teaching Dance and Musical Theatre, Maria is a highly respected educator in the performing arts community. As the Principal of SDSD and founding Principal of The Performers Hub, Maria brings a wealth of expertise in both teaching and performance, alongside a deep passion for nurturing the next generation of talented performers.

Deputy Principal: Vicki Williams
Vicki Williams is a dedicated professional holding a Diploma in Performing Arts and an Award in Education and Training (AET), Vicki is the founding Deputy Principal of The Performers Hub. Vicki also works as a talent agent at Terra Libra Talent agency giving her first hand knowledge of the ever evolving industry. Vicki possesses a strong network of industry contacts, this connection to the professional world allows students to remain connected to the ever evolving world of Performing Arts.

Head of BTEC Performing Arts: Alex Taylor-Brown
Alex has been dancing and performing from just 2 years old. She attended dance college where she became a qualified ISTD dance teacher in Tap, Ballet, Modern, Jazz and Street Dance, she then continued her studies to complete her masters/pedagogy in Dance Science and Psychology with the British Ballet Organisation and her aerial circus training with Spin City before gaining QTLS for teaching performing arts and dance in schools and colleges. Along side her teacher training, Alex has performed in several productions including the Alice in Wonderland, 42nd Street, Greatest Showman, Red Ridding Hood and Goldilocks as well as many pantomime productions.
In addition to her performances on stage Alex has also worked at Pinewood, Elstree and Ealing TV and Film studios in BBC and Netflix productions. Alex has experience in directing and choreographing productions and dance shows which have been performed in several West London theatres.

Flexible entry requirements
To be considered for this course, as a minimum you will need 5 GCSE’s, or equivalent at 4/C grade and above. Preferably this will include English and Maths, although pathways are available to those that just miss out on a 4/C Grade in these core subjects.
